Malta is a party to the Schengen Agreement. Click here for information on whether you need to apply for a visa for your travel to Malta.

Embassies and Consulates of Malta process Schengen short-stay (C) visas for stays of 90 days or less.

Where Malta has no Diplomatic Mission or Consular post, third-country nationals are obliged to apply for a visa at the following EU (European Union) Diplomatic Missions and Consular posts, which issue visas in representation of Malta. Click here for more information.

Visa application forms must be wholly and legibly completed and signed by the applicant. Please refer to the website of the respective location for additional documentation requirements.

The Consulate may ask applicants for any other supporting documents it deems necessary.

Applications shall be lodged as soon as possible and ideally six weeks before the start of the intended visit. The Embassy will not be liable to loss of travel expenses due to late submission of applications.
